ADDING NEGATIVE KEYWORDS IN GOOGLE ADWORDS

ADDING NEGATIVE KEYWORDS TO A WHOLE ACCOUNT AT ONCE  OR MULTIPLE CAMPAIGNS

• Login to Adwords.
• If you are an agency with a MCC (My Client Centre) account, choose the account you want to add negative keywords. If you are not an agency with a MCC account, then you should be already on the account you want to add negative keywords to.
• Go to “Shared library” (on the left hand side menu)
• Go to “Campaign Negative Keywords”>Click on “View”
• Click in the +List button
• Then create your negative keywords list
• Save the list.
• Open the list
• Click on “Apply to campaigns” button.
• Select the campaigns to share that negative keywords list with.
• Click on Save
• Viola! You have added your negative keywords list to the whole account or to multiple campaigns within your account.

Jan 2017 update: AdWords Managed Accounts (MCC) can finally share negative keyword lists across multiple client accounts.

You can create a single list of negative keywords that can be applied to accounts or campaigns within an MCC. Just follow the same process as per above but this time from the top level MCC account. You will see that you can also click on “Shared library” and follow the same process.
